Cultural Council
The Council carefully evaluates and awards grants that support the arts, sciences and humanities to improve and contribute to the diversity of our community, The grants are funded with the policies and guidelines set by the Massachusetts Cultural Council with the annual amount subject to legislative appropriations.

The goal of the Disabilities Commission is to make the city a user-friendly community to all individuals. We intend to do this by raising public awareness through education and providing a resource of information. We will promote the right of all persons with diverse disabilities so that full inclusion to all programs and support services will be realized.

Doyle Field Commission
Doyle Field is a 21 acre piece of property that was gifted to the city in 1931 by former Mayor Bernard W Doyle. Hundreds of walkers use it daily as well as hundreds of children at the playground named Imagination Station.

The Planning Department provides technical assistance to the Planning Board. The mission of the Planning Board is to preserve and enhance the quality of life for individual residents and the City community as a whole; to provide foresight and direction through an open, informed and inclusive public decision-making process; and to ensure reasonably planned growth and development of land and its use in a manner that preserves the City's unique rural and historic character.
